In DC

Lisa Sophia and I were in DC for 3 days. It was nice. I was worried how Sophia would be on a long train ride but she was perfect. Sleep most of the way up and most of the way back. While Lisa was in her conference I took Sophia to the White House and to the Washington Monument. That was nice. She slept most of that adventure also.

On our first day we went to the National Geographic museum. That was better then I thought. The pictures and stories were wild. And free.

Then we went to the zoo. That was free. We could not believe how clean it was. And all the animals were out playing. If you go to the Philadelphia zoo half of the animals are sleeping or the pens are empty. We saw the giant Panda's, Red Panda's, 8 fun Otters, Giraffes, elephants, wolves, huge scary fish, Giant turtles.

We took the Metro (subway) to the zoo and to Union Station to catch the Amtrak train. That was spotless and not crowded. All in all I was impressed. So many diplomats come from all over the world. I guess you have to impress. I don't have a problem with spending the money to make the city look good. Philadelphia is pretty dirty now that I have seen DC. I guess I have just been here to long. Need something new.
